POSTCARDS: Pockets of quiet in Boracay Island

DSC_8848 watermarked
A man paddles his way across the clear waters of Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan, Philippines.

The Philippines’ most popular beach, this tiny island is again bracing itself for the influx of tourists starting this month up to the remainder of the summer. Many are lamenting the urbanization that crowds its shoreline and much of the island’s inhabited areas, but one look at its crystal clear waters and you will realize just what it is about this place that’s worth looking at: the sheer beauty of nature and the quiet life of the people who call it home.
